A STUDY OF THE ATTITUDE OF SECONDARY SCHOOL TEACHERS TOWARDS THE PROFESSION OF TEACHING IN HOJAI DISTRICT

Abstract

The focus of the present study is to gather knowledge about the attitude of the teachers
specially those who belong to the secondary level regarding their profession. The current study was
conducted with the objectives to know the attitude of teachers at the secondary level as per gender
(male and female) and institution (private and government). The research data was collected from the
teachers of different secondary schools of Hojai District. The descriptive survey research method and
stratified random sampling technique employed by the researchers. The result of the study shows that
most of the teachers who belong to secondary school have a positive attitude to their profession in
terms of gender (male and female) the result also shows that the teachers do not have significant
differences regarding their attitude towards their profession. The implications of the study and
suggestions for further research in this area are also given in the study.
