Hill Hold Assist System In Vehicles Using Ratchet And Pawl Mechanism

Abstract

In this work the hill hold system is utilized in the load carrying vehicles by an external ratchet and pawl gearbox mechanism. The mechanism of hill hold using a ratchet and pawl gearbox is the novel inventive technology, which was used past in their mechanism. It may assist with the rear wheel drive and arrest the backward rotational movement if the load carried vehicles in the inclined areas. This also improved the wear and tear of the clutch and provides better stability when driving in inclined roads. Hence, this mechanism will be cheaper than the actual ECU mechanism to assist hill drive and effectively useful.
