Study on the Influence of Cement Content on the Properties of Expansive Soil

Abstract

The influence of different cement content on free swelling rate, Shear Strength Index and fracture rate of expansive soil in a construction section of hydraulic engineering is studied. The test results show that the free expansion rate and crack rate of expansive soil are obviously reduced, and the Shear Strength Index is obviously improved. When the cement content is close to 6%, the crack ratio tends to be stable, and when the cement content is close to 8%, the free expansion ratio and shear strength index tend to be stable, so the project can obtain better engineering results when the cement content is 8%.
