Abstract

This paper proposes a blind jamming detection approach for direct-sequence spread-spectrum (DSSS) systems. The theory of cyclic wiener filter, which is based on the cyclostationary assumption of most modulation signals, is applied to design the proposed detector, namely time variant whitener (TVW)-based detector, which exploits the distinct cyclostationarity features of the desired signal and the jamming signal respectively. The simulation results show that the DSSS receiving structures using the proposed cyclostationary-based jamming detection can decide the presence of jamming signal that occupies the same frequency band as does DSSS signal, and outperforms the time invariant whitener-based detector, which fails when trying to detect jamming signal.
