A Study of English Teaching and Learning Methods Based on Constructivism

Abstract

With the progress of the times, English courses are changing. In the past, the teachers paid more attention to the content of the subject, and now they lay emphasis on the experience of the learners and their own experience. For modern English education, cultivating students’ innovative awareness is particularly important. At the same time, it is also necessary to improve students’ practical ability. This paper introduces the new teaching theory of constructivism, and analyzes its implications for English teaching and learning methods, so as to guide English teaching practice and solve some problems in practice. In recent years, constructivism has a profound impact on educational practice, and it is an innovation of traditional teaching ideas. This paper introduces the constructivism theory and analyzes the relationship between the theory and English teaching. It can be found that the constructivist view of teaching contributes to the development of English education in China, and helps to cultivate innovative talents in English.
