Abstract

The present experimental work discusses the measurement of mass attenuation coefficient of Zirconium Oxide (ZrO2) and Zirconium Sulfate (ZrOSO4) close to K edge region within the range of 17919-18664eV using the EXAFS Beam line source (BL-09) Synchrotron Radiation at the Raja Ramanna Center for Advanced Technology Indore. The results are compared with standard theoretical values obtained from NIST XCOM. Just near K-edge the highest deviation with an oscillatory aspect was found and gradually decreases as it moves away from K edge of the absorption. This oscillatory structure occurs just above the observed edge of absorption, i.e. 18keV, and is confined above the K-edge up to200-250eV.
