Abstract

The e-commerce business is growing exponentially for the past few
years. According to social bakers, e-commerce is the most well-known business in
Facebook and has a fan following of 254920123 as of May 2020 in India. With the
advent of artificial intelligence, social media platforms had further evolved in the
entirety of its activities. For instance, Facebook advertises products based on the
behavior of its members. Hence finding the targeted audience for a product turns
out to be a lot simpler than a mass commercial that doesn't draw in a huge number
of sales. This has set off the e-commerce business to choose social media as its
major platform for marketing products. The ability to target audience in social
media makes advertising not only cost-effective but also removes geographical
constraints that exist in the traditional method of advertising. Social media
marketing helps e-commerce businesses to enhance the advancement of their
business while setting up a reliable association with customers. The e-commerce
companies make the customers engage with the activities a brand carries out in
social media. The most popular social media platforms in which e-commerce
marketers prefer to promote their products are Facebook, Instagram, Reddit,
Snapchat, Twitter, Pinterest, and LinkedIn. In this paper, we have conducted a
study on social media marketing in eCommerce to attain better insights on the
same.
