Abstract

The research paper discusses the intelligent transformations in the contemporary
urban space in the framework of the relationship of these transformations with the concept of
smart urban data and its various urban applications. The research aims to shed light on the
impact of smart urban data in modeling urban space transformations to reach to an
informational urban space that has many features, including urban self-emergency
management. The research assumes that information technology has a role in transforming
the structure of contemporary urban space into two parallel levels, the urban space(visible),
and the other is the informational urban space (invisible), where the urban space can be read
in three levels (physical - social- cyber). The research reaches to construct the theoretical
framework and the application steps for building the informational urban space through urban
space modelling including urban aspects modelling and urban aspects profiling with smart
urban data. With practical application cases, the paper argue how the utilizing the concept of
urban space modeling in meeting the real needs of decision-making, urban emergency
management, operation and management. The concept of modeling urban space be able to
model cities with smart urban data, and this make them as organisms runned and managed
through information.
