Abstract

This report, which explores an initiative using Orff related music activities that support children
with autism, aims to determine public understanding of children with autism in Malaysia and
is the start of other studies on other individuals who are not autistic children's parents, families
or carers. The aims of the study are to define the most appropriate instruments for Orff’s
intervention music (voice, gesture and instruments), in order to affect the holistic production
of high performance Autism Spectrum Disorder (HFA) in Malaysia (social, interactions and
personal). The research employed cross-sectional polls, systematic sampling methods to select
individuals and administered questionnaires to 250 parents of strongly autistic children in
Malaysia on an unbiased basis. The data were evaluated using version 23 of SPSS. The findings
of multiple regressions revealed that Hypothesis 1 regarding the important association between
Orff-based Music Intervention-Children’s general speech and continuum autism condition
(?=0.210; t=2.552; p<0.05) was statistically supported. In the other hand, the important
association between Orff-based Music Intervention – Movement and Autism Disability
Children's Holistic Growth (? = 0.066; t = 0.862; p>.05) is not statistically supported.
Hypothesis 3 further scientifically confirms the important association between Orff-based MS
– Instrument and autism spectrum disorder Children's comprehensive growth (? = 0.623; t =
9.637; p < 0.01).
