Abstract

It is difficult to locate the key factors when the power flow calculation is not convergent in a
large-scale power grid. In this paper, we propose an identification method of nonconvergent key factors
based on convergence region and corrects the identified key factors to obtain the convergent power flow
through analyzing the variation law of intermediate data. IEEE 145-bus and IEEE 3012-bus system have
applied to the method and the simulation results have demonstrated the excellent effectiveness. The
proposed method can quickly identify the key factors of nonconvergence for large-scale systems when the
calculation is not convergent, and reduce the workload of operators trying to adjust. It has a good application
prospect in power system dispatching.
