Abstract

The ideological development of ISIS groups spread through social media is an interesting phenomenon in analyzing today's global radicalism and terrorism. ISIS has used terrorist approaches such as deadly bombings, as well as slaughter and arson to achieve the political objectives of their struggle. ISIS uses the concept of Jihad and its own Islamic State to attract Muslims to join them including professionals. This study was conducted to identify the influence of ISIS ideology on the professionals in Malaysia based on their age, duration of service, and religious activities, namely prayer, and charity. This study used quantitative methods through inference statistics and analyzed using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 21 as well as Smart-PLS. A total of 400 Professional Groups around Klang Valley were identified as samples of this study. The results showed that there was a significant positive relationship between zakat, infaq, and charity payments with the duration of service (r = 0.16, p = 0.001). While prayer showed a significant positive relationship with age (r = 0.18, p = 0.001) and a significant positive relationship between zakat, infaq or charity payments with age (r = 0.18, p = 0.001).
