Abstract

In present research study thermal performance investigation of cascaded vapor compression absorption cycle (VCAC) is conducted by using the numerical analysis. In present study the application of design of experiment method called “Taguchi Method”. Taguchi method help to make the total experiments for this VCAC system for different input parameters. In this investigation total four input parameters are selected for investigation which are evaporator temperature, condenser temperature, generator temperature and last factor is Absorber temperature. The range selection of each parameter are set as per Taguchi method. In this study each input parameter has five levels. As per Taguchi rules total 25 experiments runs are generated which are called as orthogonal array. Response parameter selection for present study is set as per first and second law parameters. So first response is COP of the system and second parameter is exergy energy parameter of the system. In present study signal to noise ratio analysis for both parameters are investigated. The first rank for larger is better option for COP is going to set for condenser temperature of VCC cycle, second rank is set for evaporator temperature, third rank is set for generator temperature and least rank is set for Absorber temperature. The first rank for smaller is better option for Itotal is going to set for generator temperature of VAC cycle, second rank is set for condenser temperature, third rank is set for evaporator temperature and least rank is set for Absorber temperature. Non linear regression modeling is also developed for both response parameters
