Technology and News Media: Digital News Content Analysis on Tirto’s Id Instagram Accoun

Abstract

Technology has changed media and journalism practices. This research intends to find the content of news in digital platform (Instagram) on Tirto.id, one of the most popular online media in Indonesia. As the nature of reading news has swift from traditional media to digital, media organizations needs to present their news in accordance to the new technology. Instagram is one of the platform chosen by most media organization. Moreover, media publisher can benefit Instagram nature of posting photos, videos, and user interactivity to present news using technology to attract wider audience. Therefore, this research aims to find out how Tirto.id’s delivers their content on their Instagram account. Using a qualitative approach through a content analysis on Tirto.id Instagram account, this paper will analyse their content of article and their strategies of news presenting.
