Fault Diagnosis and Condition Monitoring of a Switchgear using ANN

Abstract

Switchgear plays a major role in maintaining the reliability of the power system. Hence, failure of such system has to be avoided. However, due to poor temperature dissipation in switchgear, contacts fault occurs. Hence, to identify and to prevent switchgear from such fault condition, this work proposed BPNN topology. From the results, it is proven that the proposed topology exhibits higher accuracy in fault prediction.
