Abstract

Heat exchanger is a device widely applicable in power stations, air conditioning, refrigeration, petrochemical plants, natural-gas processing plants, chemical plants. Active, passive and compound heat transfer enhancement techniques are used to increase the overall heat transfer. In this research, advanced and modern methods are used to increase overall heat transfer coefficient. In this research work investigated and analyzed the performance of wavy pipe on heat transfer in a double pipe heat exchanger (DPHEx) with the variation of mass flow rate of hot water temperature and tap water as a cold fluid. Overall investigation on wavy pipe heat transfer enhancement results has been analyzed through the computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software.
