Abstract

Augmented Reality (AR) is now widely used in everyday life, one of which is education. Today, AR applications integrated to enhance the curriculum standards used, such as text, graphics, videos, and audio that can be integrated into real-time student environments so that they can learn better. AR can produce additional information to students displayed in multimedia. Lack of knowledge and teaching techniques using the latest technology as teaching aids has had an impact on student achievement. The teaching techniques of lecturers using only books such as those for Polytechnic students are also the cause of the students' failure to understand the content of the lessons presented. A quasi-experimental study using a pre-test and post-test conducted on 40 students of Diploma in Electronic Engineering, which divided into two groups consisting of the treatment group and the control group.  The aims in this study to identify the effectiveness of the application of e-Module Semiconductor Devices using AR either have a direct impact on student achievement or otherwise. Study respondents were selected using a purposive sampling method. Frequency, percentage, and t-test used to analyze the data using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) 22. The study has found that the application of e-Module Semiconductor Devices using AR has a positive effect on student achievement. Overall, e-Module Semiconductor Devices using AR can improve student achievement, and can also help weak students. e-Module Semiconductor Devices using AR found to be of interest in learning the subject of Semiconductor Devices.

Keywords-e-Module Semiconductor Devices, Augmented Reality (AR), student achievement, technology in teaching and learning, electronic engineering.
