Power System Stability Improvement by TLBO Tuned PSS Based SMIB & Multimachine System

Abstract

In this paper, the design of power system stabilizer is implement the Teaching learning-based
optimization (TLBO) technique. The TLBO is currently gaining popularity in the research community
because it effectively solves certain difficult problems in optimizing real words. The proposed optimization
of PSS parameters is express with an objective function based on Eigen-value shifting to assure the stability
of nonlinear system for a wide verity of operating and loading conditions of the single machine infinite-bus
power system & multimachine model. The system performance with TLBO optimize PSS (TLBO-PSS)
controller is compared with gravity search algorithm based PSS (GA-PSS) controller. The simulation results
are presented under various loading and operating condition to show the performance and robustness of the
proposed approach.
