Abstract

This paper presents the static analysis modeling of elastomeric bearing used in the bridge, with the finite element method (ANSYS Workbench software18.2). The goal of this paper is to calculate the stress and strain of a reinforced elastomeric bridge and obtain an optimal design of the damper by illustrating three optimized elastomeric bearing subjected to the same vertical force.  Two vertical forces are applied to the bearing; 10000N and 30000N. The elastomeric bridge bearing have a diameter 300mm and a height is 40mm. The hyper-elastic and viscoelastic properties of elastomer are defined by using the Ogden model [1]. A new technique is suggested to obtain the optimal design of the elastomeric damper. The results showed that the optimized dampers showed lower induced stress and better stress distribution.
