Drought Dynamics of Bundelkhand: A Review

Abstract

Bundelkhand is a geographical region in Northern India. It comprises of administrative divisions
falling within the territorial limits of state of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. Historically the region has
been witnessing a gradual decrease in rainfall and as a result the region has added itself in a long list of
drought prone areas in India. The study analyses historic and contemporary trend of how drought has
worsened the situation in the region for the natives. The study also analyses the policy measures along with
the government schemes put in place to support Bundelkhand in order to tackle the issue of drought in the
region
