Development of 10 GHz Asymmetrical feed Patch Antenna for IoT Applications

Abstract

In the proposed work, a compact planar antenna for the internet of things (IoT) is developed with operating frequency 9.6GHz to 10.6GHz covering the super high frequency (SHF) range of 9.775ghz to 10GHz. The dimension of the antenna is 16mm 11mm. The feed is fed through four kinds of dimensional levels of stages to enhance the bandwidth of the antenna. The first stage of the feed line is 5.08mm in length and 1.397 mm in width, while the second stage has a size of 0.52 × 2.286 mm2. The third stage of the antenna is embedded in the size of 2.279×0.609 mm2. The final stage which directly contacts the antenna is 1 mm in length and 3.5 mm in width. The return loss characteristics and gain characteristics of the developed antenna are studied.  The proposed antenna can be employed in the scientific research laboratory, IoT devices, radar, mobile phones and commercial wireless local area network (CLAN).
