Optimization Research on Lightweight Wheel Structure through Solid Thinking

Abstract

Through structural optimization of the wheel, the most optimal bearing structure of the material is obtained, which provides a structural reference for the designer to design the wheel of various models. Firstly, research on the wheels of various models on the market, obtain the size of each model wheel, calculate the wheel parameters according to the national standard bending fatigue formula, secondly, according to the calculation results, load the wheel in the SolidThinking Inspire software, define the design space, set constraint, complete the topology optimization of the basic wheel, obtain the optimal wheel structure model, then re-construct the model into the SolidThinking Evolve to make the manufacturing process, finally calculate the quality of the wheel reduction. Apply design research and topology optimization to the wheel design, the optimal structural design of the most economical materials for different models of wheels is achieved. The topology optimization method in SolidThinking is feasible to realize the lightweight form design of the wheel.
