Abstract

In the field of electric mobility field, in speed drive system there is a well-known issue of damaging the bearing
system. In speed drive system, the Inverter is used to generate the ac supply from dc source. It produces a common
mode voltage (CMV) in induction motor with respect to ground. The common mode voltage is responsible for the
flow of current through the bearing system. This flow of current through bearing system causes an early failure of
bearing system and affects different parameter of variable speed drive system. This phenomenon is called inverter
induced circulating bearing current. Therefore, the comparisons and analysis of the common mode voltage, shaft
voltage and circulating bearing current is focused in this research. The proposed work is based on two-level inverter
fed induction motor using PID and Fuzzy controller with the help of PWM technique to reduce the circulating
current and common mode voltage.
