Abstract

In a binary mixture of tetrachloroethylene and cyclohexanone the ultrasound velocity (u) and density (?), viscosity (?) are measured across the full range of composition including pure liquids at four temperatures (303.15.308.15,313.12,318.15) K. Experimental values were used to evaluate acoustic parameters like free volume (Vf), adiabatic compressibility (?), intermolecular free length (Lf), acoustic impedance (Z), internal pressure (IIi), and corresponding excess parameters such as excess ultrasonic velocity, excess adiabatic compressibility, excess free length, excess free volume, excess internal pressure and excess Gibb's free energy. In terms of intermolecular interactions between the different molecules of the binary mixture the observed variations of these parameters with both concentration and temperature are discussed.
