Abstract

An automotive chassis is an important part of vehicle. Chassis is a fabricated structure and deals with dynamic characteristics such as mode shape, frequency response, stress distribution and deflection of an on - road vehicle chassis. The dynamic vibrations are mainly coming from entire power train unit, road irregularities and improper mounting of fasteners, without rubber mounts, poor welding of chassis. To minimize vibrations and maximize life and safety of the chassis frame while vehicle is in dynamic condition. There is a need for modal analysis for the effects of dynamic behavior and locate critical area of deflection by using theoretical calculations and validate through finite element analysis approach.
