Abstract

This study attempts an overview of food satisfaction of the university canteen. The aim of this study is to improve an
understanding of food service attributes in the university canteen. Students’ food satisfaction has become a vital
issue for the overall food service attributes of any university canteen. Moreover, students’ satisfaction is a multidimensional concept which depends on several factors provided by the canteen. There exists an extensive volume of
attributes on student satisfaction, which shows that various factors like a reasonable price, food quality, beverage
quality, food variety, service quality, and ambience affect the satisfaction level of students. It has also shown the
hypothetical relationship of these five attributes to students’ attitudes regarding the satisfaction of the university
canteen. The development of an extensive literature review in this paper, providing together with sound conceptual
model suggestions and will help researchers with further empirical investigation. The university canteen should meet
this demand for attaining students’ satisfaction to maintain a smooth food supply.
