Abstract

Heat rejection from an automobile engine is one of the active problems faced by the designers. This present study deals with the increasing the heat transfer rate from engine without changing the overall design of the fin. The heat transfer through the extended surface array of fins, installed at the surface of engine of two wheeler automobiles, is analyzed with and without the humidification of atmospheric air. This study will help in analysis and comparisons of results of heat transfer rate, with and without humidity, will help in designing to enhance the effectiveness of fin already in use. In general, the effectiveness of the fin is enhanced by either change in design or material changed both.
