Abstract

“Due to environmental awareness and stricter regulations on industrial waste management, the world is increasingly inclined to research the properties of industrial waste and to seek alternatives to the use of its useful components so that they can be used as a secondary raw material in other sectors.

Although iron and steel slag is still considered a waste and is listed in industrial waste catalogs in most countries of the world, it is certainly not a waste, neither for its physical and chemical properties, nor for the data on its use as useful material for various purposes. Additionally, since the early days of the discovery and growth of steel and other metal-making methods, slag has been used as a by-product to meet various human needs, from the production of drugs and agro technical agents to the production of cement and construction elements.”
