LED Bike Jacket for Safety and Visibility of Cyclist

Abstract

Safety and visibility is very significant among the bikers whether they are biking in a public or private road. With the
use of Light Emitting Diode (LED) lights and a portable machine capable of being programmed which is the
Arduino Nano, biking can become a safe means not only for working out but also for going to work. This study
proposes the development of LED Bike Jacket with the use of the Arduino Nano is intended for the cyclist who lacks
visibility on the road. The Jacket features the turn signals with the use of the tactile buttons. The left button is for the
left signal at the back of the jacket with the use of LEDs, the right button for the right signal, the brake button for the
brake signal, and the hazard for the hazard mode respectively. The study will undoubtedly increase the visibility of
the cyclists and as a result, will lessen the road accidents involving cyclists.
