Abstract

The load flow study in a power system constitutes a study of paramount importance. The study reveals the electrical performance and power flows (real and reactive) for specified condition when the system is operating under steady state. The available methods for uncertain load flow analysis like, Probabilistic method, Fuzzy arithmetic techniques, and interval arithmetic (IA) of acquiring uncertain in power system will be extensively reviewed in this paper. The features of each method will be clearly analyzed and their approach in solving the uncertain power flow problem will be described. The proposed method is tested on and IEEE-14, 57, 118 bus system and the result is compared with traditional probabilistic Monte Carlo method. From the result it is concluded that the proposed method converges faster than the Monte Carlo method and easy to implement.
