Abstract

The article describes the research conducted on the types of shrubs in orchards in the conditions
of horticulture in Fergana, Samarkand and Tashkent regions of Uzbekistan and the degree of their damage to
fruit trees. The study identified 10 species of shield, of which 6 species were Diaspididae and 4 were
Coccidae. Population rates have not changed dramatically over the years of shield development. Irrigation
systems in gardens were more common in well-established areas as they were relatively more common.
Among the fruit trees it is found in apple, pear, plum, cherry, peach and quince trees. Lepidosaphes ulmi L.,
Quadraspidiotus perniciosus Comst., Parlatoria oleae Colvee., Shlidaspis prunorum Borchs as relatively
common species in orchards. species have been identified. Sphaerolecanium prunastri Fonsc.,
Parthenolecanium corni Bouche of false shield. species are recorded. Damage to fruit trees was found to be
high in some areas, with apples, apricots, pears and cherries being found to be more damaged than other
fruit trees. This may be due to the varietal characteristics of the trees and the environmental factors that
attract the shield.
