Abstract

This paper examines the system of higher education in the Republic of Uzbekistan. Some socio-political and methodological aspects of the problem of achieving an internationally recognized level of higher educational institutions in the country are considered. A comparative analysis of the current state of higher education in Uzbekistan and in a number of other leading countries of the world is carried out. It is shown that one of the most important factors for the successful development of the foreign higher education system is a relatively large number of students at the University. This is what favorably affects on its relatively independent, scientific, methodological and, most importantly, cost-effective development and ensures independent existence in the complex conditions of a globalized educational system. It is concluded that the desire of higher educational institutions to reach an internationally recognized level is possible precisely through their significant consolidation.
