Optimization Of Drying Parameter Of Bird’s Eye Chilli Using Response Surface Method

Abstract

— This paper is about optimizing the parameters of drying of bird’s eye chilli in a fluidized bed
drying using Response Surface Method. The depth of bed, velocity of air, temperature of operation and time
of drying are the parameters studied with drying rate and humidity content. The independent variables were
depth of bed from 2cm to 4 cm in a fluidized bed dryer. The air speeds of 0.85 m / s to 1.09 m / s are varied.
The temperature of the operation is set between 50°C and 70°C and drying time between 40-120minutes.
