Impact of Massive Open Online Course on the Teacher-Enrollees’ Personal Growth and Professional Development

Abstract

Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) refers to a large scale of participants enrolling on free
access online courses. It provides professional development to teachers in a convenient format and structure.
This descriptive study aims to assess the experiences of 120 teacher-enrollees from the three provinces in
Mindanao. It used surveys and interviews in data gathering. Findings show that the teachers evaluated
MOOCs as acceptable, effective and reliable. The Content and Structure are compatible with their
expectations and the courses developed their personal and professional growth
