Abstract

In this paper, various digital modulation techniques along with the encoding model used in wireless communications were discussed. The time taken for processing each block in the communication model is compared and the results are recorded by transmitting different lengths of incoming messages. In today’s world, everyone is in need of communication devices which help them to communicate with each other. The data sent through the communication devices should be of very high speed. In day to day life, recent technologies and applications show the growth of wireless communication. A digital modulation technique plays a major role in mobile communications which increases the speed and quality of a digital network.  Without any appropriate modulation, the signal cannot be transmitted to a larger distance with good quality. Bandwidth, signal to noise ratio, signal power, encoding and decoding process has to be considered in the development of communication systems. For video and high speed data services, modulation techniques such as ASK, FSK, PSK, and QPSK are used. Simulations were performed using MATLAB
