Abstract

Nowadays the development of web application is getting more and more user-centric and
sophisticated for customers that fulfil the complex business needs, but at the same time it creates complexity
for developers to design such applications. Since the complexities in application are growing steadily, the
testing of such applications too becomes a challenging task. Test automation has gone rapid development
with the advancement in tools, technologies and framework. In this paper, we have proposed a hybrid test
automation framework with latest tools and techniques to share the code/project among the various
developers through CI tools that also evaluates the dynamic character of this framework. We note that the
modality of cooperation in this field has changed from independent to teamwork. We have observed that due
to the least time bound release cycle of software development, tester requires advanced mechanisms to test
the applications which can be achieved in the form of test automation. Furthermore, to overcome the
existing problems in automation of web application we have designed the FASTEST framework with the
aim to achieve the Efficiency, Reusability and Accuracy (ERA) in the test automation. Finally, we explored
the inner structure of all popular frameworks whose main resources are test case, test step, page
object/element and test data, to get benefitted from it to design a new framework. Overall, the architectural
design provides a robust framework with the latest technology to minimize the effort of all stakeholders
engaged in test automation
