Applying AI in LTE Wireless Network for Power-system Communications Load Balancing

Abstract

Electric power wireless communication faces a few challenges based on load balancing, parameter planning, and optimization. However, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Self Organizing Network (SON) for LTE are used as solutions for the aforementioned challenges. In this paper, the QHLB algorithm with the aid of SON functions managed to optimize and selects the right parameters to balance and optimize the load among LTE network cells. The Hyper-Q Learning algorithm is used to boost LTE network performance. The results show that AI and SON provide a support technology for electric power communication where the proposed algorithm with SON performs better than the default Reference algorithm (Ref) for network load balancing.
