Abstract

Multipath occurs when part of the signal from the satellite reaches the receiver after one or more
reflections from the ground, building or another object, is a significant and largely unmodeled source of GPS
positioning error. We present a method called estimation of phase multipath in GPS with SNR ,in which we
are extracting multipath parameters (direct and indirect signal amplitudes, and the phase difference between
direct and indirect signals). The accuracy in amplitude and phase of the receiving signal reduces because
satellite signal is disturbed by the objects in the surrounding of receiver. Here,we are using MUSIC
algorithm(Multiple Signal Classification) in this paper to calculate multipath parameters(i.e amplitude and
phase). We are finding the errors which occurs due to multipath which is used to improve GPS signal
precession.
