Abstract

Low thermal efficiency and primitiveness design of cook stove causes natural biomass resources degradation and environmental pollution. The problematic solution is to introduce improved cook stove (ICS). In this article the metallic and the non-metallic types cook stoves, which are made in Bangladesh that have been testified according to the international test Norms. The substantial observation findings have laid 35~ 40% for the metallic and 20~30% for the non-metallic the utmost thermal efficiencies of the entire kitchen stoves. Despites of the fact that the non-metallic cook stoves have lower thermal efficiency but less emissions performance from these found while a chimney is attached to the exhaust. So, practically less toxic or hazardous elements exhaust from these type of stoves during the operation. The metallic type cook stoves have also possessed the low carbon emissions characteristics if there are an external arrangement of draught control system, which reduces the Carbon mono-oxide (CO) concentration around 2 ppm.
