Realization of Penta Band Metamaterial Antenna using Multisubstrate Architecture

Abstract

— Multiband micro-strip antenna is designed and analyzed in this paper. An antenna with square
patch is designed using dual Fr4 substrate with permittivity value of 4.4. The antenna size is 31.65 x31.65
mm2 and presents a high gain of 5 dB with ultra-wide bandwidth. Quarter wave ground architecture is
imposed in ground layer of proposed antenna with Deflected Ground Structure (DGS) to achieve overall size
reduction. The antenna proposed in this paper operates at multiple bands centered at 4.4 GHz, 5.9 GHz, 7.3
GHz, 8.6 GHz and 10.4 GHz with corresponding return loss of -16.24dB, -11.8dB, -25.24dB, -16.43dB and
-20.3dB
