Abstract

In the case of natural disasters or wars, regular com-munication networks i.e. cellular and internet networks may be col-lapsed. This results in preventing communications between people in the affected area. Thereby, no messages can be exchanged between the people in such an area. To solve this problem, a temporary infrastructure-less network is proposed to allow messages exchange. This network will be established based on the smartphones by extending the single-hop WiFi direct to provide a multi-hop communication without depending on a permanent intermediate device. In this proposal, the WiFi direct has been enhanced to operate automatically, which means requiring no human interaction in building the network aside run the application. In addition, the proposed network topology is changeable there is no restriction on devices locations.
