Abstract

In Robotics harmonic drive transmissions plays an important role and are widely used, space
manipulation systems as well as productive machinery due to their tremendous mechanical properties counting
low backlash, compact size and along with high speed reduction ratio. Analytical investigation, design
modelling of backlash and hysteresis for harmonic drive reports are generated, but in literature, no thorough
understanding knowledge of backlash in addition to its attributes is accessible at hand. In this research, both
experimental and analytical studies of backlash are carried to get best output. Due to the impact of recoil, tooth
detachment and this could follow towards contact loss while meshing. To evaluate the impact of the various
variables; rotational speed, recoil and torque parametric studies were conducted. By partitioning the subject
of enthusiasm into a finite number of elements, the problem is with a lot of conditions to be tackled for every
component in consideration to a discretized to a boundary value problem. The hormonic shaft analysis attached
to cam attachment with different material shafts observed for better usage in slotting machine
