Abstract

Traffic congestion, is a major issue emerging in a large portion of the urban areas which is
currently expanding in significant parts of the world and everything specifies that it will continue
deteriorating, interpreting an intimidate threat to the quintessence of urban life. The main principle lies in the
dynamic reduction in traffic speeds, achieving increment in voyaging time, usage of fuel, natural sullying,
contrasting all these with a constant traffic flow. The issue of traffic congestion needs a steady strategy to
deal with congestion through strategies affecting the diminishing in holding up time so the traffic gets out
from the traffic light as quickly as time permits. In the wake of seeing an urgent need which underscores on
the issue of traffic congestion this work gives a versatile technique to the traffic signal control system which
works depending on the density based sensor; utilizing VHDL coding, it will be useful in diminishing the
holding up time of the conveyance: in this way wiping out the exercise in futility on the signals and
convergence focuses
