Abstract

Internet of things refers to the contact of any device with another device, resulting in the relay
of useful information and logical constructs, which may be as small as, but not limited to, sensors detecting
motion. The prospect of inculcating IoT into security systems opens to us wide options and choices that will
enable us to remotely monitor and mobilise against threats to public security and vandalism. On the same
outlook, the presence of so many devices online will call for a better system of communication and integration
among themselves and to that IoT is the answer. This paper aims to describe an anti-tamper system which
surveils and alarms whenever damage or vandalism is detected. Furthermore, applications based on the
Internet of Things can be monitored and all activity can be viewed remotely. So, if tampering is detected, the
information is sent to a cloud server, which further forwards it to the concerned municipal and police
authorities via email. Thus, these attributes make this system ideal for Public Security.
