Increase the Output Efficiency of Photovoltaic (PV) Modules by Using Reflector

Abstract

As it's known in worldwide the efficiency of photovoltaic modules is lower than other
renewable energy devices efficiency, which converts the sunlight to electrical power.In
this research two PV modules were employed, the first one with reflector and the other
one without reflector.
Both modules have the same tilt angle; its performance was compared under the same
environmental conditions in Iraqi, (ambient temperature of 46 °C and solar radiation of
730 W/m2
). The mirror enhanced solar PV panel which tracked sun along the daytime
from East to West in summer (July) 2019 with tilt angle 0.576 rad (33 degree)for panel
and 1.20 rad (69 degree) for mirror which was calculated by experiment.
The power increase percentages by 4% in the output of panel, with reflector compared
with the panel without reflector in the same condition (sun light and the same solar
system.
