Simple Additive Weighting Approach for Paint Materials Supplier Selection at PT XYZ

Abstract

Supplier evaluation and selection is a way to help the decision-maker to choose the best decision from several available alternatives. Simple additive weighting (SAW) is a method that can be used to select and evaluate  uppliers that have a search method taking into account the weights held by the criteria. Choosing a supplier to provide raw materials for production in a manufacturing company is important. A decision selection system is needed to get the best raw material supplier according to the criteria desired by the company. This research purpose to determine the best supplier by selecting suppliers based on the criteria determined by the company. Based on research has been done in one of the manufacturing companies PT. XYZ in the Painting Department using the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method. Based on the test results, it was found that the best suppliers for paint raw materials were pigment, paint resin,solvent, and additives.
