Design of Low Power 2-4 and 4-16 mux based Decoders

Abstract

Power consumption is one of the important parameters to be considered while Designing any digital circuit. Recently there has been a surge of interest in low-power Devices and design techniques. The decoders are widely used in the logical circuits, Data transfer circuits and analog to digital conversions. A novel multiplexer based Topology is presented for the 2to4 and 4to16 decoder design aiming on reducing the Transistor count and operating power. The proposed decoder is designed using180nm technology.
