Message Encryption Applied to CAN Bus

Abstract

t-Internet of Things (IoT) is applied widely in industrial field, and Internet of Vehicles (IoV)
is growing in popularity. When network is connected with external features, there is a danger of being
hacked by outsider. Nowadays Vehicle network mostly use CAN bus for system transmission. CAN
network provides cheap, stable and efficient network system, but it can’t make sure that data is
transmitted safely and cryptographically. It causes that CAN network isn’t suitable for development of
IoT and IoV. Therefore, this thesis is to explore security of CAN network by vehicles and to design an
encryption suitable for CAN network by improving existent encryption
