Abstract

- Education among tribal is given highest priority for the simple reason that it is key to socio-economic development of the tribal education enables them to perform their role to be a useful citizen in democracy. Development of the state lies with the development of the backward people socio-economically disadvantaged and educationally backward in relation to total population. Education is the cornerstone of development. The purpose of this paper is to examine (a) to assess the achievement of tribal students in Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences at elementary and secondary level. (b) to study the facilities available in Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences for the all-round development of the tribal students at elementary and secondary level. (c) to analyse the attitude of tribal students towards Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences at elementary and secondary level.(d) to study the aspiration of the tribal students of Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences at elementary and secondary level. Purposive random sampling technique was adopted to collect the data for present study. For this empirical study, data were collected from Tribal students studying in KISS.
