Characterization of Ceramic Compound Synthesized Using Pore-Forming Agent
Abstract
The ceramic system MgSb2O4 has been prepared by the thermal treatment. The porosity of the ceramic compound controlled by adding organic material such as (pmma) with various weight fraction (0,1,2,3,4)% from weight of MgSb2O4 compound and hence heat treatment. The structure, crystallite size and theory density of components and compound were identified byX-ray diffraction(XRD) and comparing them with (ICDD).The dielectric properties such as, dielectric constant (?r) and dielectric loss (tan?) for all samples as a function of the frequency and porosity have been calculated by LCR metterat room temperature in the frequency range of( 5 kHz to 1MHz).In addition, the mechanical properties such as Vackers’ hardness (Hv) , The elastic modulus (E) and yield strength (Y) have been meassured too as functions of weight fraction of (pmma). The experimental results show that the porosity affects on both ofthe dielectric and mechanical properties negativlly.
