Replenishment Strategy of New Retail Enterprises Based on Sales Forecast

Abstract

New retail is now a hot topic that attracts more and more researchers put efforts into the research about new retail management. New retail is an emerging business market, which combines online sales and offline sales in a unified platform. Different from the traditional offline retail business, new retail has a broader market. More and more companies are joining this industry. However, the new retail companies sell mainly fresh agricultural products like eggs, fruits and vegetables. These products need to be kept fresh. That is to say, most products of the new retail companies are not suitable for large and long-term storage. Therefore, the replenishment strategy is important to the development of new retail industry. In this paper, we analyzed the difficulties on supply chain management of new retail companies. We firstly analyzed the sales situation by descriptive statistics method from the perspective of specific products. Furthermore, we address the replenishment strategy problem on the sales forecast. The replenishment relies on market demand. Sales forest is the key to guide scientific and effective replenishment strategy. In this paper, we formulate a profit optimization replenishment strategy model based on sales forecast information. Due to the complexity of the trend of fresh product sales in new retail companies, we introduced the exponential smoothing, gray model and ANN network model for sales forecast. Finally, we conducted experiments on the sales data of company-A to demonstrate the effectiveness of the sales forecast performance and replenishment strategy model
